The Medium of Choice on the Way of “Online Literature” to Television: Starting from the “Deleted Parts” of the TV Play The Legend of Zhen Huan

The online novel The Legend of Zhen Huan and its TV play adaptation are different in terms of time and space, characters, storylines and narrative emphasis. These differences have shown the emotional structure, cultural psychology and social consciousness of the “online settlements.” “Online literature” gains its legitimacy and particularity via the Internet and laptop screen. It is on this basis that one can distinguish between the creation modes and the medium of choices of the “authors” of “online literature” and the “authors” of traditional literary writing. The difference between “online literature fans” and TV audiences is premised upon the difference between their media. The two different renditions reflect the diversity of popular cultural ideology.
