“Classics” in the Mirror and Lost “Time and Space”— On Ge Liang’s Novels
(Abstract)
Li Wei
Ge Liang’s novels exhibit a distinct relationship between “classical” style and historical function. Over time, Ge Liang began to construct new historical timespaces in his fiction. His transition from “de-historicization” to “re-historicization,” and his representative works that weave historical logic through motifs of “relics” and “the weak,” reflect an effort to engage in a dialogue between “classical” aesthetics and modern grand narratives. Through this, his novels aim to reconstruct cultural continuity.
