Cultural Subjectivity and Its Literary Expression

Cultural subjectivity is an important concept in Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. Chinese civilization has lasted for thousands of years because of the subjectivity of Chinese culture. Under the new historical conditions, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation requires the consolidation of the subjectivity of Chinese culture. The theory of cultural subjectivity involves the maintenance of the cultural interests of the Chinese nation, the cultural security of the country, and China’s right to speak in the international community, etc. The core of the theory is a new view of traditional culture. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, in the course of the development of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, a new view of literature has gradually taken shape, and cultural subjectivity has been strengthened in contemporary literary creation and research on literary theory.
