Global Governance under the Horizon of “a Community of Shared Future for Mankind”: Innovative Concept and Practice (Abstract)
Sun Jisheng
Global governance is an important task facing the international community today. Traditional approaches to governance have not effectively solved the current global issues. Lagging governance systems, governance failures, and governance deficits are everywhere, and global governance is often in trouble. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has clearly defined itself as a world power, carried out great power diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, and paid more and more attention to global governance. At the same time, China has clearly put forward the concept of “a community of shared future for mankind,” which contains the unique Chinese intellectual traditions and behavioral patterns that profoundly affect China’s philosophy and practice of understanding and participating in global governance. The global governance under the horizon of a community of shared future for mankind emphasizes the relevance, unity, and inclusiveness of the world, highlighting common and equal governance, connected governance, process governance, and development governance. It not only adds new concepts and action ideas to the current global governance, but also provides empirical inspiration for international cooperation and innovation in governance theory at the theoretical level.
