The Historical Choice and Purpose of Online Literature

The emergence and rapid development of Chinese online literature reflects the rise of global mass culture in the 21st century.After 20 years of development, Chinese online literature has staged  from the edge to the center of the literary arena, and its social recognition rises to the peak. Based on the unprecedented scale, there are increasing high-quality works, and the IPbased upsurge in recent years further has improved the quality of online literature. Taking categorization as its main form of creation, online literature has developed many types and renewed constantly. Online writers come from different backgrounds, and their different understandings of literature contributed to the diversity of online literature of both artistry and vulgarity. Aesthetically, online literature reflects the understanding and awareness of life of new generation. Culturally, online literature can be traced back to the  traditional popular literature. Under the guidance of Party’s policy and the specific promotion of relevant authorities, online literature develops well in multiple dimensions, and the realistic creation has become the banner and indicator of the mainstreaming of Chinese online literature. Chinese online literature has originated from this era, and it has made achievements in this era, which once again affirms the close relationship between literature and the times.
