Having successfully concluded its first stage, the team of the Digitization Project of Chinese Oral Literature Heritage presented their achievements over the past three years in Beijing on Feb.28. “This project stands as the single largest digital library of oral literature heritage in the world today”, said Luo Yang, dean of China’s Academy for Art and Industries, at the exhibition. The Chinese Folk Literature and Art Society initiated the project in Dec. 2010 with support from the Ministry of Culture and China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. The library includes myths, legends, folk stories, folk songs, proverbs, riddles, allegorical sayings and many other categories of oral literature.
