The Heart Opens to Life: Reading Wei Wei’s Yanxia Li

Wei Wei’s newly published novel Yanxia Li (In the Clouds) describes the relationship between human beings and society, the times, and other human beings in the context of the times. When the writer’s heart is open to life, we can see in the work the goodness and ugliness, warmth and indifference intertwined with history, reality, human nature and human hearts, as well as people's helplessness and sadness about the impermanence of life in the course of history.
