“Shuang” and Its Completion: The Way in Which the Online Genre Fiction Exists
(Abstract)
Ji Yunfei
As a person who is dying in the twilight of life and as a concrete person who is deeply defined by society and history, one must carefully calculate his or her “capital” and carefully use it to obtain the maximum happiness within his or her ability. The happiness associated with the incomplete good and incomplete happiness is “shuang.” “Shuang” is a reader effect, referring to the joy that readers experience while reading. It is still an ideal state of “shuang,” which is achieved in the way of affirmation/success rather than negation/suffering, and its completion depends on setting and “golden fingers.” Chinese online genre fiction takes “shuang” as the fundamental purpose, set the world/characters to provide the possibility for the achievement of “shuang,” and use the “golden fingers” to provide superpowers, “scapegoats” and even luck for the implementation of possibilities.
