Literary criticism is a specialized act of mental activity based on aesthetic perception that analyzes and evaluates literary works or phenomena related to literary practice, which cannot be achieved without the development of certain special mental abilities and the use of certain thinking methods and writing techniques. The power of perception, interpretation and judgment are the main skills required of all good literary critics, ancient and modern.
