Landscape and Mind: Rethinking the Dimension of the Study of Urban Literature

In recent years, the regional tendency in the study of urban literature has become more obvious, and the use of theories of topics such as landscape, space, and consumption have expanded the research space; inside the city, the history of urban development has been examined from the dimensions of daily life, the city and the people. On the whole, many studies pay too much attention to the external landscape and scenery, but lack the internal interpretation of the city’s temperament and the mind of urban residents; they pay too much attention to the search for the history of the city, and do not reflect enough on the current realities. In addition to focusing on urban landscape and scenery, studies should also pay attention to examining the life and state of mind of urban residents from an emotional perspective, so as to expand new interpretive space for the study of urban literature.
