The Academic Origin of Tan Xian’s Literary Interpretation

On the basis of the perspective of academic history, eliminating the barrier between Tan Xian as a teacher and literatus, and tracing the academic origin of his thoughts on literary interpretation, which is a better path to explore the context and unique connotations of Tan Xian’s discourse on literary interpretation. Because Tan Xian’s interpretation puts readers’ acceptance at the first, it is inevitable that the interpretation dilemma exists in the discussion between “personal assumption” and “gonglun (rational truth),” leading to the modern thinking on the issue of gonglun in literary interpretation.
