Antarctic environmental history: exploitation and protection from the eighteenth century to present

Although the Antarctic is a hard and remote place for us, it has become part of our recognition for several hundred years, and important part of natural exploitation in the global scope. In the article, I give an introduction to the exploitation of the natural environment and its protection, especially exploitation of seals, whales, fishes and krills, as well as management and conservation on national level. In addition, I analyze current challenges from climate change the Antarctic region also faces.
