Presenting the “Eyes of Life” in Worldly Life: On Li Tie’s Short Stories

Li Tie’s short stories in recent years show distinctive features in the spirit of literary narrative, the presentation of human nature, textual structure, language, character shaping, and narrative aesthetics. In the constraint textual narrative space of short stories, he overcomes own limitations, “spend unremitting efforts,” and make spiritual “maneuver.” Li’s exploration of short story forms and the release of inner narrative energy have further expanded the space of imagination regarding this genre.
