Chinese-Style Modernization and New Developmental Sociology

The magnitude of Chinese-style modernization is rarely seen. Among its many unique features are the synchronous reform of the economic system and transformation of the social structure; superimposed leapfrog development and developmental stages; a huge population; and far-reaching effects across the world. On the basis of the experience of Chinese-style modernization, China has developed its own theoretical system for a series of major development issues including developmental ideas and dynamics, comparative developmental advantage, developmental constraints and bottlenecks, and the aim of development. This has laid the foundation for the construction of new developmental sociology.
