Big Data Empowering the Modernization of Official Statistics

The reform of the modernization of statistics, as an integral part of building a modern socialist country in China, has assumed the great mission of catalyzing the development of statistical science. Affected as it is by the surge in Internet technology, China’s promotion of this reform requires the building of a modern system of statistical inquiry in line with the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, in addition to the modernization of statistical facilities and tools based on digital transformation. We must continuously improve the government’s statistical capacity and level to serve high quality economic and social development.
