Research on the History of Eastern Diplomacy: History and Prospect

The history of Eastern diplomacy is an important part of the entirety of human history. It has clear research objects and research methods, and a specific system. In the new era, with the rise of the Eastern countries, Chinese theoretical workers in the social sciences face the arduous task of and great theoretical need for treating the history of Eastern diplomacy as an independent discipline for which we need to plan, construct, develop and establish our own disciplinary system, academic system and discourse system. In the past decade, Chinese scholars have constructed the overall history of Eastern diplomacy through Eastern indigenous resources and the Chinese historical view, and have made preliminary achievements through bold exploration in terms of subject positioning, subject system and development route. This has important practical significance for summarizing and improving previous research findings in order to complete the task of disciplinary construction in the new era of social transformation. This is also an in-depth development of cultural construction in terms of specific actions.
