The Current Situation and Prospect of Ba Jin Studies as well as the Transformation of Narration of Literary History

At present, Ba Jin research is forced to face a major turning point. The main reason is the enlargement and enrichment of the information represented by the publication and rapid development of the literature database in the Republic of China. In fact, it is not only the research of individual writers that is forced to “transform and change qualitatively.” On the basis of individual studies, the study of “literary history” which synthesizes these studies is also faced with severe challenges and forced to change its paradigm. Taking Ba Jin’s research status as a starting point and looking forward to the future, we can also discuss the transformation of literary history.
