9th Forum on Frontiers of China’s Social Sciences kicks off

The ninth Forum on the Frontiers of China's Social Sciences was opened on Sept. 12 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
 
The ninth Forum on the Frontiers of China's Social Sciences was opened on Sept. 12 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It was co-hosted by the Social Sciences in China Press (SSCP) under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Sichuan University. 
 
CASS President Wang Weiguang delivered the keynote speech. Yang Quanming, secretary of the Party committee of Sichuan University gave the welcome speech. Gao Xiang, secretary-general of CASS and editor-in-chief of SSCP presided over the opening ceremony. 
 
Paying attention to major theoretical and practical issues as always, the ninth session focused on "Building of New-type Think Tanks and Studies of Philosophy and Social Sciences." More than 120 representatives from over 50 universities and research institutions, including CASS, Sichuan University, Jilin University, Sun Yat-sen University, Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Nanjing University, Tongji University, Hunan Academy of Social Sciences, Hubei Academy of Social Sciences, Guangdong Social Sciences Association and Jiangsu Social Sciences Association, attended the meeting.
 
Launched by SSCP, the forum has become a famous academic brand and important communication platform for promoting and guiding the innovation of social sciences in China.
