Regional Public Goods and the Mechanisms of the Rise and Fall of the East Asian Regional Order

(Abstract)

Before the advent of international law, East Asia had established a long-term stable regional order with China at its core. The primary supporting elements in daily life in this order were regional public goods that benefited all of East Asia. With the reorganization of the modern order and the renewal of public goods, the direction and development of regional relations have also undergone predictable changes. However, as public goods from East Asian countries, especially from contemporary China, once again benefit regional countries and the world, it is crucial to focus on and understand the relationship between the historical evolution of public goods and the mechanism of the rise and fall of regional systems. This understanding may provide new perspectives and meaningful insights for revealing and addressing blind spots and gaps in related research fields.
