“Two Innovations” Cultural Guideline and Cultural Subjectivity
(Abstract)
He Zhonghua
The “two innovations” cultural guideline and the methodological principle it embodies have become an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. Its philosophical implications reflect a “life” perspective towards the excellent traditional Chinese culture, which means the conscious establishment of cultural subjectivity. Historically, as for cultural inheritance and development, the guidelines we have adopted show a clearcut evolutionary pedigree from “two acts” to “two services” all the way to “two creations”. It means that we have achieved a transformation from the object perspective to the subject perspective, from accusative to nominative, and from static to dynamic. This process profoundly reflects the constantly changing historical context faced by the Chinese nation. The new era behooves us to better practice new cultural missions and highlight the perspective and stand of the Chinese nation’s cultural life. The active subjectivity of excellent traditional Chinese culture reflected in the “two innovations” guideline is a conscious representation of the epochal demands.
