Chinese calligraphers not only admire life, but also capture the most touching and dynamic moments of life with their simple brush and ink. During this course, calligraphy expresses and comforts life, and leads people to realize the transcendence of life. Under the influence of Chinese cultural philosophy, the “sheng (life)” in the aesthetic idea of Chinese calligraphy has developed into an essential aesthetic category distinct to the Western artistic concept.
