In recent years, “grassland study tour and nature education summer camps” have emerged in Inner Mongolia pastoral areas. The “grassland study tour camps” utilize the unique ecological environment, traditional culture, returning youths and other resource advantages of the Inner Mongolian grasslands, and takes the principles and knowledge of the grassland ecological environment and the harmonious coexistence of the grasslands, herdsmen and livestock as its ecological products. They meet the increasing ecological needs of consumers by offering them the opportunity to experience, practice and feel the grassland ecology and herdsmen’s life, while attempting to improve the ecological deterioration, economic difficulties, cultural loss and other problems and dilemmas faced by pastoralist areas at this stage. The “grassland tour camp” is an effective way to modernize and transform traditional ecological knowledge, a sustainable path to practice ecological priority and green development in Inner Mongolia, and a case for reference and promotion of rural revitalization and the harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature under the modern transformation of traditional pastoral areas.
