Chinese civilization has a long history and is one of the most representative forms of civilization in human history. Based on archaeological findings and documents, this paper demonstrates the history of Chinese civilization over more than 5000 years, and reveals the developmental pattern of Chinese civilization which is characterized by unity in diversity. The systems of rites and music are unique component of Chinese civilization, embodying its fundamental features.
