An Analysis of the Strategy of the French First Colonial Empire in the Americas

Unlike the British who value the ocean a lot, the French holds on to continental traditions. However, in the process of ruling America, the French appeared to show an unconventional attitude of valuing the ocean over the land. However, upon careful examination, there is a clear picture that although the French attach much more importance to the West Indies than to the North American continent, this is merely an extended move of pursuing hegemony in the European continent. After all, the French First Colonial Empire strategizes Americas with a goal of serving the interests of the French nation state.
