Diversity and Commonality in International Aid: A Global Perspective
(Abstract)
Zhou Hong
Since the end of the Second World War, inter-country aid relations have developed rapidly. With the proliferation of aid actors, international aid has become diversified in terms of actors, objectives and institutions. These are conflicting and confrontational at times, but at other times are intermeshed, interacting and mutually influential. There is even a convergence in approaches and ideas in the field of international development cooperation. From the perspective of the actors, objectives, operations and approaches in international aid, as well as its background and the reasons for such interaction and convergence, it is possible to understand the multiple laws of international aid under non-governmental conditions and the interconnectedness of aid actors, thereby helping to uphold independence and complementarity in the pluralistic world of international aid and promoting the construction of a development community and even a human community with a shared future.
