Reconstructing the Grand Narrative of the Novel: On Fan Wen’s Novel

From the “Tibetan Trilogy” onwards, Fan Wen strives to discover what has been overlooked and obscured in history, and to salvage the precious spiritual heritage from the long river of history, reconstructing the grand narrative of the novel through the retelling of history. He uses spirituality as the core of reconstruction and cultural intermingling as the way to reconstruct, thus allowing history to be retold. His grand narrative is inseparable from his realistic spirit.
