The Dilemma and the Way Out of Academic Style of Literary Criticism

Centering on the pursuit of “scientization,” the emergence and prevalence of the academic style of literary criticism is rational and inevitable. However, many abuses have been arisen in the current literary research. To solve those abuses, we not only relies on strengthening the academic norms, but also with the help of the self-improvement of the style. One of the pathway is to rebuild a criticism that is organic integration with the “literalization” of literary criticism style. It does not mean a full return to the paradigm of “literalization” of style of literary criticism, but based on inherent “quasi-scientific” nature of literary research, leaving reasonable spaces for research subject’s literary perception and development in the uncovered areas by science and rationality, on the premise of understanding the object of literary research in the maximum rationality and logic.
