Dual Confirmation of Self and World: On Xu Zechen’s View of Writing Concept

Xu Zechen is a representative writer who broadens his writing by thinking.  Apart from rigorous, balanced, and honest aesthetics, his novels also demonstrate temperament, taste, knowledge, genuine feelings, and philosophical thinking. With a clear awareness of self-establishment, Xu balances his feelings and expands his capacity by writing about his contemporaries, “going to the world” and upholding artistic self-discipline. His writing is a dual confirmation of the self and the world, and also represents the “post-70s” writers’ pursuit and protection of the art of novel.
