Bibliometric Analysis of the Current Situation of Hermeneutics Research in China

On the basis of the Chinese Humanities and Social Science Citation Database (CHSSCD) developed by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies, and through the construction of important keywords in hermeneutics, we applied bibliometrics to research literature relating to the field of hermeneutics from 1981 to 2021, analyzing the number of papers published, the distribution of subjects, authors and their institutions, and related cooperation, as well as the co-appearance of keywords, etc. On the basis of the results of the analysis, we summarized the development process and topical research areas in hermeneutics, revealing the research directions attracting scholarly attention. Our research shows that after 40-plus years of development, China’s research on hermeneutics has entered a steady developmental stage, contemporary Chinese hermeneutics is gradually being perfected.
