Towards the Indian Ocean: climate and migration in the Bay of Bengal

The Indian Ocean has been one of the foci in the global environmental history. With the Bay of Bengal as the hub, I link the South and Southeast Asia together to explore the relations between “monsoon Asia” climate and migration. Based on my investigations, I elaborate the results from the interdiciplinary studies between history of migration and environmental history, which would be useful for us to understand current environmental challenges and offers us the directions for future studies.
