From “a moderately prosperous society” to “building a modern socialist country in an all-round way”

Since China began its reform and opening up, significant changes have taken place in the society. Efforts to build “a moderately prosperous society” phase by phase, a phrase evolving from a proposition to a strategy for national development, then to “building it in an all-round way,” to “accomplishing it in all respects,” giving impetus to China’s grand take-off from “Stand up” to “Get rich” and then to “Get stronger,” which reaches “the first Century Goal,” and creating “two big miracles: rapid economic growth and long-term social stability” in the world. After “a moderately prosperous society” was accomplished in all respects, China began its new expedition to “build a modern socialist country in an all-round way,” and designed a “two-steps” developmental strategy as a solid base in both theory and practice for its effort to reach “the second Century Goal”.
