The Aesthetic Interest and Value Pursuit of Wang Hua’s Novels
(Abstract)
Du Guojing
Wang Hua has accumulated 20-plus year experience of literary writing from the short story “A Primary School in a Village” published in Mountain Flowers in 2001 through her 2021 novel Dalou Mountain. This period can be roughly divided into three stages: writing of suffering, fate or paradox; the depiction of women’s spiritual home; and the close-to-realistic narration of the battle against poverty. Although Wang Hua always focuses on rural characters and their fate, the aesthetic interest and value pursuit of her writing has been constantly elevating.
