Since its founding a century ago, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has always kept in mind its original aspiration and mission—to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.
Yang Fengcheng, a professor from the School of Marxism Studies at Renmin University of China, said that the CPC’s birth has profoundly changed the direction and process of the Chinese nation’s development in modern times, the future and destiny of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation, and global development trends and patterns.
Over the past century, the CPC carried out its struggle to facilitate the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and created a new modernization path with a Chinese style.
Ren Ping, a professor from the School of Politics and Public Administration at Soochow University, said that in order to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the CPC led the Chinese people to firmly follow the path of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context. It integrated Marxism with the reality of Chinese revolution and construction, with the people, and with refined traditional Chinese culture. As such, a new path of Chinese-style modernization has been created.
Under the CPC’s leadership on this path, the Chinese people succeeded in revolution and established the PRC, Ren said.
“We have succeeded in developing the country, achieving the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Now we are striding towards the second centenary goal,” Ren said.
From 1921 to 2021, the CPC has gone through a 100-year journey, said Guo Lihong, president of Northwest University. In these 100 years, the Chinese Communists have pursued and fulfilled their dreams. The Chinese Communists have written their beliefs and confidence into this 100-year history. It also represents a century of the CPC’s theoretical and ideological innovation.
Liu Zhifu, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and vice chairman of the Shandong Federation of Social Sciences, said that it is necessary to adhere to a people-centered approach, focusing on employment, income, education, pensions, and other hot topics and practical issues concerning the people’s livelihoods.
Liu also suggested strengthening theoretical interpretation, policy interpretation, and countermeasure research.
