Literary Virtue: The Logical Starting Point of the Construction of Article Studies

In Dragon Carving and Literary Mind, Liu Xie endows “literary virtue” with the connotation of recognizing the world’s virtue, the virtue of the article itself, the virtue of the writing, the virtue of the author himself, the virtue of the unity of Tao and literature, and the virtue of the reader. Dragon Carving and Literary Mind takes “following Dao” as the purpose, and “literary virtue” as the logical starting point, establishes the article study with the supporting system of Daoism, stylistics, author’s theory, works theory, creation theory, criticism and appreciation theory, aiming to pass on the world through “making comments.”
