Hosted by Social Sciences in China Press (SSCP) and Nanjing Normal University, the Fifth Chinese Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Forum was held in Nanjing from Oct.28 to 29. Nearly 70 scholars from universities and research institutions including Peking University, Fudan University, Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and Nanjing University exchanged ideas and thoughts on the theme of “Re-comprehending ‘Development.’”
Deputy editor-in-chief of SSCP Luo Wendong and President of Nanjing Normal University Chen Guoxiang delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
Zhou Youyong, vice-president of Southeast University, Wen Jun, director of the School of Social development at East China Normal University, Liu Zhibiao, executive director of the Research Center for Yangtze River Delta Economic and Social Development and Wang Tian’en, a professor from the Academic Division of Social Sciences at Shanghai University respectively made keynote speeches at the forum, introducing themes such as “ Guiding the new development of China under rule of law through new development ideas” and “’Development Transformation’ or ‘Transformation development’?—Exploration of new sociology of development facing transitional society.”
