May 9, the Third Sino-U.S. High Level Scholarly Forum themed “Modernization in China and West: Comparative Perspectives” was convened at Guangxi Normal University.
Gao Xiang, secretary-general of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), general editor-in-chief of the Social Sciences in China Press (SSCP), Michael Roth, president of Wesleyan University, Wang Nan, party secretary of Guangxi Normal University and Cai Changzhuo, deputy director-general of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.
More than 30 scholars from China and the United States attended the forum. In the following two days, attendees will explore more discussions on modernization from comparative perspectives.
Sino-U.S. High Level Scholarly Forum takes place every two years, co-sponsored by the Social Sciences in China Press and Wesleyan University.
The forum was initiated in 2011, aiming to exchange scholarly thinking in the fields of humanities between Chinese and US scholars.
