Coordinating the Expansion of Domestic Demand and the Deepening of Supply-Side Structural Reform: The Underlying Logic

China should address the challenges of insufficient aggregate demand and structural contradictions in economic growth by coordinating the expansion of domestic demand with the deepening of supply-side structural reforms. This policy combination is a key strategy for responding to the new normal of China’s economic development and advancing toward high-quality growth. Demand has imposed various short-term and long-term constraints on China’s economic development, making it essential to integrate demand management with supply-side management. It is necessary to implement long-term, foundational, and comprehensive policies in a coordinated manner, combining macroeconomic regulation with deepening reform policies. This approach aims to unlock long-term demand potential and stimulate economic vitality.
