(Abstract)

Echoing the rise of Southern Theory and world anthropologies discourse, anthropology in Chinese seeks to underscore the significance of Chineselanguage writing and translation, exploring pathways for knowledge production and theoretical construction rooted in the Chinese language. Anthropological research practices in Chinese have already been subject to significant exploration. However, these efforts require systematic theoretical synthesis and refinement to deepen their application in the study of both Chinese and global societies. Anthropology in Chinese emphasizes relying on Chinese society, history, and culture, drawing from all of humanity’s intellectual and experiential resources across time and space. Through Chinese writing, and utilizing the unique intellectual resources of the Chinese, it seeks to achieve a profound description of global cultural diversity and engage in a broad dialogue grounded in human lived experiences.
