The establishment of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the most potent manifestation of cultural subjectivity. A comprehensive understanding of establishing cultural subjectivity necessitates a reflection on itself. On one hand, the very act of establishing cultural subjectivity forms the core theme and mission of cultural construction in the new era, shaped by the historic convergence of major changes unseen in a century and the pursuit of national rejuvenation. Xi Jinping has profoundly grasped this theme and mission, embodying a heightened awareness of cultural subjectivity. On the other hand, Xi Jinping Thought on Culture consistently emphasizes the theme of fostering cultural subjectivity and a robust cultural identity through cultural confidence. This underscores the necessity of recognizing the important role of cultural subjectivity in both achieving the autonomy of the national spirit and safeguarding the gains made in economic, political and other domains, integrating the “FiveSphere Integrated Plan” into a cohesive whole. The “second combination” is also crucial for the cultivation of cultural subjectivity, especially in understanding its significance within the broader context of building modern Chinese civilization.
