The Trend of “Historicization” in Contemporary Prose Narrative
(Abstract)
Yuan Yonglin
The historicization in the narrative of contemporary prose reflects new trends in the field, revealing fresh characteristics in terms of conceptual awareness, expression of thought, and narrative paradigms. Historical theoretical discourse provides a certain basis for understanding the historicization in contemporary prose. Essayists equipped with theoretical literacy and depth of thought construct new narrative structures and models amid their experience and comprehension of history, thereby injecting momentum for contemporary prose transformation and opening up a wide range of narrative paradigms. Simultaneously, from the perspective of historical narrative practice, contemporary prose has made breakthroughs and surpassed traditional historical theoretical discourses.
