On “World China Studies”

The establishment of “world China studies” is bound to generate a profound impact on Chinese studies and invite discussions on theoretical issues such as its definition, nature, function, research scope, and discourse system. Relevant exploration in a global context has revealed that world China studies should take the whole heap of knowledge about Chinese civilization as the research object, focus on the production, circulation, consumption and reproduction of Chinese knowledge on a global scale, so that contribute objective, fair and accurate information, materials, and concepts conforming to Chinese situation to human progress and prosperity. Its value is to perform function of information and education, and provide basic measurement for evaluating Chinese knowledge around the world. Ultimately, it aids mutual learning between civilizations and the construction of a human community with a shared future.
