(Abstract)

The history of world China studies testifies that Chinese knowledge and ideas have always been involved in the development of world culture. “Worldness” is the essential characteristic of this knowledge system. Meanwhile, it has remained a close interactive relationship with China’s own academic development. This is a process witnessing not only globalization of China’s academia, but also its participation in building a new world civilization. Chinese studies not only studies the historical China, but also studies the contemporary China. The integrity and openness of Chinese civilization are the baseline for worldwide sinologists to conduct research on China, as well as our fundamental method to dialogue with these sinologists and explore knowledge and learning.
