The Critique of Digital Criticism
(Abstract)
Hu Xingzhou
Presently, digital criticism in China faces three primary issues: first, a lack of effective problem awareness, failing to extract valuable questions from the accumulation of humanities scholarship, and merely skimming the surface with data analysis; second, an obsession with the visual presentation of information and statistics without integrating it into a complete chain of reasoning towards targeted conclusions; third, a lack of reflection on the reductive tendencies of digital tools and insufficient scrutiny of the constructed and temporary nature of the human perspective they offer. Only hermeneutic abilities that clear the fog can summon a dynamic and critical posthumanist subject that combines our various strengths, enabling us to navigate through the haze of information.
