Computational Philosophy as a Research Methodology
(Abstract)
Zhu Jing
Currently, computational philosophy primarily employs computational modeling for simulation, offering novel and supplementary methods for philosophical inquiry. However, this nascent field has sparked debates both within and outside philosophical research. An examination of computational simulations of philosophical issues in scientific collaboration reveals that the controversies surrounding computational philosophy often stem from confusions with the problems inherent in the simulation models themselves. Computational philosophy holds dual cognitive value: it facilitates an understanding of the social mechanisms behind complex real-world issues and inspires methodological improvements in model simulation.
