Cross-Cultural Writing of Children’s Literature in the 21st  Century

(Abstract)

Tan Fengxia

There has been an emerging phenomenon of cross-cultural writing in Chinese children’s literature since the 21st century. The relevant works have a distinctive meaning of “explorations,” including cultural comparison and mutual appreciation in parallel horizons, cultural and interesting integration in transnational friendships, and cultural and life depth in historical retrospectives. The cross-cultural writing of children’s literature can expand the development pattern of Chinese children’s literature, enrich its cultural vision and connotation, and provide a literary path for young readers to understand and participate in the mutual appreciation of civilizations and cultural symbiosis.
