The Stylistic Feature of Chorographic Novel in the New Era
(Abstract)
Yan Jiexiong
Since the new era, the growing popularity of chorographic novel has become a remarkable literary phenomenon. Its stylistic features are manifested in four aspects: first, it consciously or unconsciously connects its structure and style with that of local chronicles, and inherits the meaning of ancient classics; second, it endows the ancient local chronicles with the texture and tension of modern novels featuring space; third, by adopting thick description of anthropology, the chorographic writing expands the grand narrative approaches to a small-scale and dense description approach; the fourth is that the chorographic writing extends and enriches the narrative style from nonfiction chronicle to literary fiction.
