The Construction of an Evaluation System for Researchers in Philosophy and Social Sciences

(Abstract)

Wu Tian and Yang Jiale

To construct an evaluation system for individual researchers in philosophy and the social sciences, we should adhere to the evaluation orientation of “value, contribution, and ability,” take “The Three Great Systems” as the framework, and “building disciplinary support, improving academic competitiveness, and expanding discourse influence” as the three value aspects that distinguish researchers in philosophy and social sciences from talent in other areas. Our evaluation indexes focus on highlighting an orientation toward responsibility and contribution in disciplinary support and an orientation toward competence in academic competitiveness and discourse influence. They break down the limitations of the existing performance evaluation of researchers, which is overly focused on results, and comprehensively reflect the ideas of “breaking with the ‘five rigid criteria,’” peer evaluation, and representative work evaluation.
