A Monist Theoretical View Exemplified by the Natural Sciences
(Abstract)
Gao Chao
The great success of the natural sciences since the scientific revolution of the 19th century has led to the idea of the universal application of this model of research, giving rise to a “monist theoretical view of the natural sciences as the paradigm.” The main contrasting views are the monist theoretical view and dualist or pluralist theoretical views that do not take the natural sciences as the paradigm. The former has in fact proved bankrupt. The paradigm of natural science is that it is the first and most definitive achievement of theoretical research using the sensory ability and thinking ability of mankind, and it has set the requirements, the direction and the confidence for research in a wider field.
