Rethinking the Methodology of Digital Humanities
(Abstract)
Li Tian
From a methodological point of view, the difference between digital humanities and traditional literary studies is the difference in the object of study. The shift from literary texts to material texts in the objects of digital humanities has led to computationally-focused research ideas and visual representation of results. Based on material objects, digital humanities show the ability to uncover new problems through the mining of relationships. At the same time, due to the nature of computing, the digital humanities approach in literary research needs to be used as an aid, while the research itself needs to return to its literary roots.
