Poverty in poorer countries shrinking

On March 18th, the index devised by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHDI) showed that poverty is shrinking in many parts of the world. The reductions in multidimensional poverty (Multidimensional Poverty Index or MPI), that is, overlapping deprivations in health, education and living standards (as opposed to mono-dimensional measure of income) were measured. MPI can reveal inequalities at a regional level and between social groups, making it a vital tool for policymakers.
